Last Look before Launch
S5P/TROPOMI Principal Investigator (PI) Pepijn Veefkind telling the press in Stevenage about the scientific and societal significance of the measurements made by this instrument.
20 July 2017 was the last opportunity to see the TROPOMI instrument before being shipped from the UK to the launching site in Plesetsk, Russia. This is important milestone for TROPOMI as the launch date draws closer. To mark the occasion, a press event was held in Stevenage at the facility housing the clean room where some of the TROPOMI calibration experiments have taken place and where it has been stored in recent months. Key members of the TROPOMI team from ESA, KNMI, NSO, and Airbus were present to say farewell and to inform public about the importance of the TROPOMI mission.
