Retrieved ozone profiles will be used to monitor the evolution (recovery) of stratospheric ozone. Such monitoring is important as the ozone layer protects life on Earth, and climate change might affect the ozone layer. In contrast, tropospheric ozone is toxic and it plays an important role in tropospheric chemistry. It is our aim to continue the record of stratospheric ozone, monitor changes, and improve the accuracy of the retrieved stratospheric profiles. In addition, we focus on tropospheric ozone in order to obtain information on the distribution of tropospheric ozone with a high spatial resolution and, if possible, with a high accuracy. This is not only important for studies of atmospheric pollution in the troposphere, but also important for climate studies
as tropospheric ozone is a greenhouse gas. In the Ozone Profile and Tropospheric Profile product, there are two different products. The first is a full ozone profile that covers the entire atmosphere and is derived from the spectral range 270 nm to 320 nm. The second, is a Tropospheric ozone profile which is derived from the spectral range 300 nm to 320 nm.

PUM & SAMPLE DATA
The Product User Manual (PUM) and Sample Data Files are being updated based on a new release of the processing software and will be available for download by mid-February 2017.
After launch, preliminary product results will be provided during the Commissioning Phase and the Operational Phase.
